Half the setup of cornhole

Cornhole needs two boards, twenty-seven feet of clear lane, and somebody willing to go get the bags. This needs a tailgate and four feet.

Fifteen inches wide and half an inch thick. It rides flat under everything else instead of eating the whole bed.

Set it on the tailgate or drop the legs and stand it on gravel. Everyone plays from the same spot.

How it plays

Two players or four. Your marker starts in the peg hole nearest you, runs out to the farthest hole on your half, and comes back. First one home takes it.

Set the markers

Two players, one at each end. Or four, partners at each end with a die apiece. Everyone's marker starts in the ringed hole beside their own goal line. Roll for it, highest goes first.

Take your rolls

One on one, you get two rolls a turn. Two on two, each partner rolls once. Either way it's two dice a turn and the values add.

Roll long

Roll the die toward the far end. It has to break the plane of the scoring line to count, same rule as a football crossing the goal line. Short, or off the board, and you get nothing. Be ready to catch on the receiving end.

Points are spaces

The die's value is your points, and points move your marker hole for hole. Partners add together, so a five and a two moves you seven toward the half line.

Mind the marker

The markers sit right in the rolling lane. That is the point. Clip one and play stops until you dance or take a drink. Your points still count. Your dignity is on you.

Get home first

Out to the turnaround hole at midfield and back to the start takes the match. Those two holes sitting side by side on the half line are the far end of each side's run. The other side gets one last turn to tie or win, a rebuttal. Tied after that, keep taking turns until somebody wins it.

Every point is a space. There is no separate score to keep — the board is the scoreboard.

Same rules, same board, no gravel. Drag on the board from your end and let go — the dice slide, bounce off markers, and stop where they stop. Too soft and you're short of the goal line, too hard and you're off the back. Mind the markers.

    Boards are cut six to a sheet, drilled off a single jig so every peg track lines up, edged, and finished in a garage in Lexington. Stripes are cut vinyl on the Tailgater and full-bleed print on the Pro and All-Weather.

    Home State boards put your state in both end zones with a star on your town, in your colors. Sixteen are ready to go and we'll cut any state and any town you want.

    Custom work takes about two weeks. We build tributes to your colors, your town or your last name. We do not reproduce team logos or licensed marks, so bring us the colors and let us do the rest.
